WHO ARE WE?
Life Matters Outreach, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, dedicated to offering women positive alternatives to abortion. LMO is staffed by trained volunteers who serve as lay counselors. It is an affiliate of Sav-a-Life, Inc., a network of over 50 crisis pregnancy centers located in the Southeastern United States, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. We are located at 114 West Avenue - Suite D in Cedartown, Georgia just past West Cinema Theater on the right. We are in the building directly behind Bush Insurance.
Life Matters Outreach is an evangelistic ministry, based on the principle that the Good News of Jesus Christ can be used to combat, reduce, and eliminate the sins of abortion and sexual promiscuity. Our ministry has 4 main branches:
1. The Pro-Life Outreach exists to inform the community of the whole truth concerning abortion and other pro-life issues including physician-assisted suicide, euthanasia, stem cell research, and cloning. (See Leviticus 20:1-5; Proverbs 24:11, 12)
2. Our Abstinence program seeks to lift up young people by giving them HOPE for a great future, when God's outline of sex only within a monogamous marriage is followed. LMO seeks to eliminate unplanned pregnancies, as well as inform teenagers of the physical, emotional, and spiritual dangers involved in sex outside the boundaries of marriage. LMO also teaches "Secondary Virginity: for those who have already had sex, to encourage them to begin a new lifestyle of chastity. (See 1 Corinthians 6:16-20; 1 John 1:9)
3. The Pregnancy Test Center is an intervention Program for those facing unplanned pregnancies. Young women come to the center for a free pregnancy test, and receive counseling on their options. According to her personal situation, we offer parenting classes, maternity and baby clothes and furniture, adoption referrals, referrals for financial or housing assistance, as well as accurate information on the dangers of abortion. (See 1 John 3:17, 18)
4. Our Post-Abortion ministry is an outreach to women who have been victims of abortion, suffering from the physical as well as long-term psychological effects of this "simple procedure". Short-term counseling is available, as well as a 10-week Bible Study which ends with a Memorial Service in honor of the babies. (See Proverbs 28:13)
