HOW CAN I HELP?
There are many ways to help this ministry. Below are some ideas:
1. PRAY. The spiritual warfare encountered when piercing the darkness concerning abortion and sexual immorality, are overwhelming at times! Satan has a stronghold on our youth today, and he won’t give in without a fight. Please pray for our center, the director, the volunteer counselors, the board members, and for our clients. Pray for our financial situation, and also pray for the salvation of clients as we share the gospel with them. We are so thankful to have a team of prayerful intercessors, who devote their time to praying for the specific needs of this center, and we consider this one of the most crucial parts of our ministry.
2. DONATE TO OUR BABY AND MATERNITY CLOSET. Our closet is stocked with new and gently used items to help our young women who choose life for the babies! By enrolling in parenting classes, the women earn "Mommy Money" which may be spent in our donations closet. This is a very important part of our mission, for two main reasons. First of all, we are fulfilling our Biblical command to help those in need (I John 3:17, 18). Secondly, it allows us to develop a relationship of trust with the mothers as we get to know them better and become a friend to them. It gives us more of an opportunity to share the gospel with them. So, you can see how the quality and variety of items in our closet is important to us. We want it to be appealing, so that the clients are encouraged to keep coming in for on-going counseling.
Perhaps you or your organization would consider hosting a shower for our donations closet. We stock all baby and maternity items, including clothes, furniture (cribs, high chairs, swings, bassinets, etc.), strollers, bottles, bibs, diapers, nursing pads, toiletries, baby food, and formula. We don’t have money in our budget to spend on these items, so we rely on the generosity of the Christian community to meet these needs. Call or e-mail to find out what our specific needs may be at a given time.
3. BECOME A VOLUNTEER COUNSELOR. The counselors at LMO are trained in two phases: evangelistic and crisis intervention. Most of our counselors commit to 4 hours each week, however there is no specific requirement. Each volunteer must fill out an application, sign the LMO Statement of Faith, attend training, and be willing to have her pastor sign a letter of recommendation. We are always in need of committed Christian women who have a compassion for young women facing unplanned pregnancies.
Our volunteers are the heart of Life Matters. Without them, this mission would be impossible! It is truly a miracle the variety and quality of people that the Lord has sent our way to help. If God is dealing with your heart about volunteering, call or e-mail the director, Tara Stringer, and set up an appointment. Fill out a volunteer application and bring it with you.

4. BECOME A FRIEND FOR LIFE. Our Friends for Life are the monthly donors to our ministry. LMO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, that is supported solely by the Christian community. Currently, we have 5 local churches who support us monthly, as well as a small army of "Christian soldiers", families and individuals who help spread the gospel and say no to abortion by funding our ministry. If this is something you believe in, consider becoming a Friend for Life. We are in desperate need now for money to buy ministering materials, more effective advertising, blinds for our office, and a copy/fax machine.
You may not think that your donation could help much, but consider this...
- your $10 monthly donation will pay for one month of pregnancy tests
- your $15 monthly donation will buy a stack of pro-life literature
- your $20 monthly donation will pay for one month of web site hosting
- your $25 monthly donation will buy a new video to help us minister to clients
- your $30 monthly donation will pay for one week of advertising

If not you, who?
If not now, when?
It’s all about the babies!
Will you be their voice?
